Will MP3 players inadvertently start taking files off a computer?

I discovered some pictures on a friend’s MP3 player which they state the device is JUST used for their music. The friend told me that they’ve used several other computers to get music and that when an MP3 player is plugged it can inadvertently take other files as well. Is this true?

Most generic players you drag and drop to. You would have to put the files you do, or in that case, don’t want on the player.

For players that sync, such as an iPod you have to put the files in its library to sync.

With either, it could be thay inadvertent folders have been added to the library or player..
