If the player only has a hard drive then all the songs are stored on the device and once it is full then that is that. Flash (or SanDisk) means the device has a port for an external memory card so you can have many songs on multiple cards and switch them out.

A hard drive player has a hard drive inside it. just about one to two inches in diameter, these are very similar to the ones in your computer. Like every hard drive, they can crash, be magneticly altered, and require more internal movement heat and battery life. But they can Hold a Whole Lot!
Flash Players are like your RAM, SD cards, and jump drives. they don’t hold as much but stay strong when jostled around. The digital music data is stored in tiny individual cells that hold only so many 1s and 0s.No moving parts, lasers, or magnets = Battery life
