2crooked 2b straight asked:

I don’t know much about MP3 players but was thinking about getting one. Someone told me you have to pay for each and every song you download. Is that true? Anything else you can tell me about MP3 players would help. Thank you in advance :0)
I already have a buttload of songs on my computer. Can I use those?

if you download songs legally over the internet, than you do need to pay for them. if you have cd’s though, you can transfer those onto the player without paying any extra.

you have to pay for music that you do not own, due to copyright laws. several websites are available to access these songs for a small fee per song (usually around $1). but if you buy an MP3 player, you’ll be able to copy all your CD’s to that player and enjoy the music you already have. obviously apple owns this part of the market with their iPod stealing 70% of the market share of total MP3 sales. you should look at what you want it for: working out - a nano or equivalent would be the best choice, just listening at home and LOTS of music - probably the video 30GB iPod or equivalent

I have an iPod nano and I love it, it has things like games programmed into it. It has different languages as well as other knicknacks similar to cell phone extras. About paying for each and every song, you can buy songs off the ‘net if they are copywrighted. If they are not copywrighted, you can download them off of artist sites or places like MTV’s discover and download site. Just drag and drop them into iTunes, or if you already have an MP3 library on your computer, you can transfer that into your iTunes library pretty easily.

    CHANCE

first you should get an Ipod there alot better and hold way more songs and do way more stuff and if you download songs over limewire or kaza or ares or any of those music downloads then you wont have to pay for them or you can transfer music form a cd and that will also be free. Good Luck!
