Depends what you want the mp3 for -
you want just music, the a iRiver would be best
you want photos and music, maybe movies, go for an iPod.
research is a good thing - the internet is a good tool - find out what brands your friends recommend, then research from there. That’s how I ended up with my iPod nano. Just MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE AFTER

hope this helps- RCAs are great and offer a variety of storage for different users…my hubby and i go one last xmas from my mom….outta the blue it had file problems- i called RCA and found out it was a manufactuer defect, was instructed to send it in and was sent a brand new, newer model with expandable memory so i was impressed with the company and its service to supply a good product…i have heard that apples policies arent as consumer friendly-if a user has a problems they are often told too bad even if its not the useres fault…so good luck and if you have time check out the RCA webste- my hubby and i have the Pearl…..
