Roberto Sedycias asked:

Music is the ultimate source of entertainment for many people in the world. It is one of the most effective sources of refreshing and de-stressing oneself, when one is burdened with stress and anxiety. It has always been on top of people`s popular priorities, to listen to music as a regular part of their lives. The invention of gadgets like Mp3 player and iPod has now enabled them to listen to their favorite music, even when they are on the move. This very fact has largely contributed to the growing popularity of the Mp3 player devices among many people across the globe.

Nowadays, Mp3 player manufactures are coming up with the different types of designs to suit the varied needs of all customers. Customers these days have become more prudent than ever before and now they want to choose gadgets that are multi-purpose in use. For instance, there are sunglasses with Mp3 player devices, Mp3 player with GPS (global tracking system) and many other useful combinations. These combined devices not only help users to save their budgets but also offer them comfort of using or carrying them. On the other hand, the manufactures are also able to introduce their products to customers with different features which, in turn, establish their credibility in the market as well. Hence, the whole market of music-oriented gadgets and devices are just growing day by day.

Depending on their functions, Mp3 player gadgets can serve a wide-range of purposes. A recently held study shows that an average teenager spends about U$350 a year on consumer electronic devices, whereas that of an adult sums up to U$1,200. Usually, customers have different buying behaviors and they take different features into account while they buy audio devices. For example, some people want to listen to music while they are working out on the treadmill, and some people want to amuse themselves by listening to their favorite tracks while commuting on public transport. Due to this difference in the life-style of people, manufactures are coming up with Mp3 player devices of different shapes, sizes, styles and storage features.

Since almost all the Mp3 player manufacturers are offering devices with the same features, making their products stand out from the rest is becoming an issue with them. Hence, now they are launching their products in different sleek designs and sizes to attract the attention of their prospective buyers. As a matter of fact, market research studies show that excepting for a few discerning buyers, most of them are influenced by the looks and design of the product. Hence, the audio player marketers are vying with each other to get the customers` attention by introducing their audio player devices with unique and sleek designs. As a result, we can find that most Mp3 player products are getting smaller in size day by day and their looks are just getting swankier.

Mp3 player storage capacity and battery life are some of the important features one should look for. Moreover, file format is not also a problem as most of these portable audio devices play all types of music files.

Despite all these Mp3 player features, people have now started picking only those music devices that have multiple functions. For example, products that do not have either a video player or GPS or a camera are less likely to attract the buyers these days. Many others customers are also searching for Mp3 player products with a screen facility to choose and play their favorite tracks whenever they want. So before you buy an Mp3 player, know what else you want from it apart from music. This will help you decide whether you should go for a mono-purpose or multi-purpose audio device player.

Mp3 Player Comparison - Making the Comparisons to the Originals

Posted by admin | Electronics | Tuesday 6 January 2009 12:03 pm
Sun B asked:

Have you noticed lately that every mp3 online retailer you find has the same basic information on the product page?  It’s rare to find a nice detailed summary of the player or a review to give you some basic understanding of which mp3 player may be best suited for you.  I wanted to make the comparisons between the mp3 players, mp4 players and those ones that look just like the original, if you know what I mean!

If you’re reading this you’re either a little confused with all the mp3 players online or a little skeptical on some.  Let’s start off with those regular mp3 players you’ve seen that your local stores don’t carry.  The no name branded ones.  Are they legit?  You bet they are!  Especially if they’re coming from a reputable seller online.

What these players usually come with are you’re basic mp3 player functions with the addition of some extras.  Some cool features that these mp3 players come with now are the voice recorders, supported lyrics, sound equalizers to adjust the bass, or quality of sound.  So to make the comparison to other mp3 players, the ones you can only find online have greater abilities.  I mean these things also are used as USB data storage components now.  So, if you’re looking for a USB drive, why not just get one that plays your music also.

I wanted to touch bases with you on the mp4 players you might have found while searching online.  They’re not much different in comparison to the mp3 players.  You get everything mentioned above but also the mp4 functions.  Some of these players look crazy in their designs and also offer a huge amount of functions with ease of use!  Compared to your conventional mp4 player, these no branded ones offer much more, such as:

The absolute biggest difference is the PRICE.  You get a much larger memory space for a much cheaper price.  My personal favorite!

E-book reader:  Allows you transfer you’re e-book so you can read while taking your breaks at work.

They also support lyrics:  The display will show the lyrics for you so you can sing along

Some come with the new OLED technology which is a new advancement in the screens.  This gives you a much better viewing experience.

Photo albums/slides

More times then not you’ll find that you get radio function as well.

If you have come across the mp4 watch players they also support the same functions as listed above.  The screens of these watches come in 1.5” and 1.8”

So here’s the burning question everyone might want to know.  What about the ones that look like the originals?  Well to be upfront about it they look and feel exactly the same except you get a huge price break.  They do come with more features with solid durability, but with that being said it’s just a matter of personal preference and/or opinion.

I could get deeper into the specifics but that’s another story for another time.  I just wanted to make things a little more visible for those not knowing much about these mp3 players that you find everywhere online.

However, I will say, personally I am little biased in comparing these “other” mp3 mp4 players to the ones found at your electronic stores.  The way I see it is that I’m getting a lot more out of my money spent for something that has more capabilities and offers a lot more.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the name brand ones too, but since I know more about these other mp3 players, having sold them and experienced them I tend to go with the alternatives.  There’s nothing wrong with that :-)

The MP3 Player; Bringing Music To The Masses

Posted by admin | Electronics | Sunday 28 December 2008 4:05 am
Thomas Pretty asked:

The MP3 or digital audio player has been with us for some time and can now be considered the most convenient and portable method of carrying music around with us. Before the development of the MP3 file format and subsequently a player for this format the most common form of digital music device was the personal CD player, however this had serious limitations, particularly in terms of size where it was restricted to the proportions of the CD.

Attempts were made to introduce a smaller device, taking the form of the Mini Disc player although its use was limited and it did not become as popular as the CD. Today, there is an MP3 player in nearly every home in the modern world; in addition they have been incorporated into mobile phones for ultimate convenience. But what is the history of this little device?

The first digital audio player or DAP was produced as recently as 1997 by a company named Sae Han Information Systems, it was marketed as the MPMan by this South Korean company throughout 1998. It utilised a flash based memory but could only hold a paltry sixteen megabytes of data. The size restrictions of this inaugural device led to the development of a player with a hard drive. Compaq conducted the initial foray and with the cooperation of HanGo Electronics released the PJB-100 (Personal Jukebox), a device that could hold almost 4.8 GB of date, equating to over a thousand songs.

It was from this point onwards that a device was released that would not only revolutionise the design of MP3 players but design in other fields. This was the first generation of Apple’s iPod. In the beginning it was the Macintosh fraternity who used the device but thanks to a simplistic interface and minimalistic styling it soon gained acclaim and grew in popularity. The second generation iPod was a revelation and was now compatible with Microsoft PCs and hence users now had more freedom to transfer their MP3 tracks. Many other manufacturers also got into the act and released players that were similar in function, if not in form to the iPod.

Fundamentally there are two main types of MP3 players on the market today, these are flash and hard-drive based. Flash players have no mechanical parts an instead hold the musical information on a flash memory that is either built into the device or is on a memory card. While in the early years of DAPs flash devices were seen as the more restricted of the two variants, modem technological advancements however have meant that flash players can hold up to around 32 GB. The benefits of flash MP3 players is that they have no moving parts and are hence less susceptible to failure as well as using less power.

Hard drive MP3 players differ from flash variants in the way that they have a mechanical drive that stores the data. The HDD is read by the device to access the music and because the data is stored mechanically they are able to hold larger amounts of data. In some cases hard drive players can hold as much as 250 GB of data; the benefit is that the user is able to carry their entire music collection wherever they go with ease.

Today the MP3 player is one of the most noticeable forms of technology that we see everyday. On the streets, on the plane, train or bus there is almost guaranteed to be someone listening to a DAP, by reducing the size of the personal music player through advances in data retention technology it has been possible to bring portable music to the masses.

The Future of MP3 Players Is A Bright One

Posted by admin | Electronics | Wednesday 24 December 2008 9:03 am
Adam O’Connor asked:

What will tomorrow bring for MP3 players and other portable media players? No doubt digital players have enjoyed tremendous success to date. They’ve quickly replaced portable CD players and regular radios as the perfect traveling companions. But will MP3 players continue to sell or will they be replaced just as quickly by new technology? Consider 5 possible trends of the future.

1. The MP3 Player Market Will Grow

A technology research firm by the name of DC recently released a market prediction that the MP3 player market will grow steadily until 2009, perhaps by improving sales some 4 times over%. Flash player technology is also expected to advance and grow in total gigabyte storing capacity.

2. Units Will Grow More User Friendly And Energy Efficient

Older models, not to mention small and simplistic devices, will be discontinued, though many have been axed already. The latest design to beat is a full-featured MP3 player with video capabilities that’s as small as a regular MP3 player (IPOD anyone?). (Ideal size, smaller than a common PC mouse) Large bulky systems are out and so are internal iPod batteries that you can’t replace without professional help.

3. Wireless Technology

Digital players now face a serious threat from cell phones provider, which are now incorporating MP3 playback into their products. Therefore, in order to keep up with the competition, expect many MP3 players to soon utilize wireless technology and feature a Wi-Fi connection for quick and easy Internet downloads.

4. Portable Media Players

MP3 Players are also being scrutinized for value when compared to similarly priced products such as Pocket PCs, Ultra Mobile PCs and even portable game consoles. The Nintendo DS and Sony PSP use wireless technology to provide users with more multimedia entertainment beyond games, including DVD and MP3 playback. Pocket PCs cannot only play MP3 files; they can also open word processors and spreadsheets, check email and browse the web. In order not to be replaced by more efficient and similarly priced gadgets, MP3 players will have to truly become media players, that is, incorporate image viewing, audio and video recording, and more into their systems.

5. Prices Will Drop

Going along with that prediction, a realistic belief is that in the coming years multimedia players and especially MP3 players will drastically fall in price. Pocket PCs and Ultra Mobile PCs are expected to be reduced as technology improves and the market changes. People certainly won’t mind buying a media playing device with limited features, but they won’t want to pay the same price for it that they would a complete portable PC for $400.00 to $500.00.

MP3 player manufacturers like Creative Zen, iRiver, Dell Hewlett Packard and Apple iPod are certainly banking on the present, namely that MP3 players are relatively novel. Whether or not they bank on the future, however, remains to be seen.

The Story Behind Mp3 Players

Posted by admin | Electronics | Tuesday 23 December 2008 7:32 pm
Ronaldo Fisher asked:

A digital audio player, famously known as MP3 player, is an electronic device that stores, manages and plays audio files. It is considered that MP3 players are the successors to CD and MiniDisc players. MP3 players are usually grouped by storage media such as flash-based players, hard drive-based players or digital Jukeboxes, and MP3 CD players. So how did it all start for MP3 players?

In 1997 the first mass production of MP3 players took place through the initiative of SaeHan Information Systems. It was domestically marketed as “MPMan” player. During the summer of 1998, Eiger Labs got the license from the South Korean company and offered it to the North American market. They labeled it as “Eiger Labs MPMan F10”. After a few months, Diamond Multimedia launched “Rio PMP300”. It was a huge success throughout the holiday season. As a result, there were an increased interest and investments in digital music. At the same time, the said unit received various lawsuits thus mistakenly believed to be as the first MP3 player.

The succeeding year, Compaq introduced the first hard drive based MP3 player through a 2.5” laptop drive. It claimed that it can hold a maximum of 1200 songs. In October 2001, Apple Inc. launched the first generation of its iPod family, a 5-GB hard drive based MP3 player using a 1.8” Toshiba drive. The next year, it unveiled its second generation iPod. The iPod series experienced tremendous success all over the world and thus hold the top spot in the MP3 players market.

Comparing iPod and MP3 Players - Is There A Difference?

Posted by admin | Electronics | Saturday 13 December 2008 5:09 pm
Mike Singh asked:

According to the latest market studies, the iPod has sold over 1.5 million units as compared to the other MP3 players. The iPod video 30gb holds over 15,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or 150 hours of video with a battery life of 14 hours for music, and two hours for videos. This is exciting when we think about having no choices a few years ago, or carrying around a lot of CDs. Of course, we could always listen to the car stereo! But when a person is out shopping for a MP3 player, is the iPod really any better?

First of all, we need to understand that the iPod is an MP3 player, not that iPods and MP3 players are identical and in competition. A good rule of thumb to remember is this: when you look for a DVR, you don’t say you are looking for a DVR. For example, you say you are looking for a Tivo. An analogy would be this – when you go to buy a carbonated beverage or soda, you don’t say you are looking for a carbonated beverage, you say you are looking for a Coke or a Pepsi. Both are carbonated beverages. When you look for an MP3 player, you don’t say you are looking for a MP3 player – because it could be any brand, including the iPod. You say you are looking for an iPod. This, and other subtle differences, is the difference between an iPod and an MP3 player. And when recognizing this, understand that of all the negative reviews of any of the MP3 players, all the complaints of errors were 95% user errors – not reading what the item was actually capable of doing.

The iPod is the most popular MP3 player out there. This is not even open for discussion. Owned by celebrities in the Rolling Stone Magazine or on Entertainment Tonight, you never see them talking about the benefits and features of their Creative Labs or iRiver, other brands of the MP3 players. Why? Because it is not considered “hip” or “cool” to talk about anything other than an iPod. It HAS to be an iPod for a person to fit in, to be with it, and to be accepted as one of the leaders in MP3 players.

But then, don’t most of us grow up? We begin to see all options that fit our needs, not just what is hip. We begin to see ourself as an individual, not just as one of a group – with no separate identity. We pass through Junior High and High school, and head into college, begin a family, or just get on with life. And with this, we begin to see the benefits of more affordable MP3 players, not just one. We begin to look at what we want in a MP3 player beside a brand name.

The most important focus for most buyers who are paying their own bills is money. The iPods are very expensive, with a nonreplacable battery that loses its resiliency in about a couple years. And if money is issues with the ol’ pocket … consider how much extra space you can get for your dollar by going with a different brand name than iPod. If the price tag on the iPod 60GB player is $399 and the price tag on the Toshiba 60GB player is $249, then a person has something to consider. Another option could be the MP3 CD players, which offer more megabytes per dollar with CDs that hold 10 hours of music each. Some people get hung up on the fact it is not a hard drive-based player, while others feel it is comparable enough to go for the extra saved money. It’s all about choice.

Additionally, the iPod video and audio formats can sometimes cause problems with people who like to use certain types of media formats. Apple uses a few exclusive types of video and audio formats, like the AAC-encoded files, because they are Apple where other manufacturers use multiple formats to become more attractive to the consumer. Many reviews consider this an extremely negative drawback to the iPod, as they feel “hemmed in”. Other MP3 players allow the choice of “BuyMusic”, “Musicmatch”, or “Napster”. Most MP3 players support a wide range musical service choices. Make sure you investigate what formats are supported by iPod and other manufacturers you are considering, it could make or break your purchase.

Apple’s iPod is the industry leader for a reason, because they make tremendous products, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other great products on the market. With many drawback such as a high price, review complaints of limited support, limited memory, limited types of music that can be recorded or played, or with unlimited ability to record online music. Other brands to look would be Rio, Creative, Samsung or Dell – it may be time to do a comparison study!

5 Things To Look For When Choosing A MP3 Player

Posted by admin | Electronics | Saturday 29 November 2008 12:55 pm
Adrian Adams asked:

You can’t go anywhere these days without seeing this small, digital device attached to cars, hips and clipped to belts and purses, MP3 players are everywhere. Small and portable, the options for styles, shapes, and features is as endless as the places they can be found. So, how do you find the right Mp3 player to meet your particular needs, provided you know what those needs are. Most people want the best mp3 player for the money. Here is a handy, useful guide to help decide which is the best mp3 player for you.

Mp3 players usually come in two categories, these are Flash and hard drive. Flash MP3 players are smaller, usually cheaper and aren’t memory intensive. However, they more than make up for it by being a bit more durable. These mp3 players are usually better suited for active, on the go lifestyles and smaller budgets. The best feature is that they are upgradeable, allowing the MP3 player to grow with your needs. Hard drive mp3 players are usually larger, aren’t as durable and more expensive. They do have the advantage of being able to hold large amounts of music and even video.

Features

Take a look around. Mp3 players have tons of features, sound and audio options, play options, even software for downloading, and organizing your music files. Mp3 players can literally be entire music libraries in the palm of your hand. When checking out Mp3 players, make sure to check out things like battery life, and any accessories you may want. Sometimes, more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better when looking for the best mp3 player for you. A little research can go a long way.

Display

Have you ever had this happen? I’m sure you have. It happens with cell phones all the time. You can’t read your display or have to squint to make it out. Frustrating. Make sure your display is readable and large enough to show you all the information you want to see. Mp3 players are electronic investments. You want to make sure you’re going to want to use the mp3 after you get it.

Price

On a tight budget? looking to spend less than $100 dollars? Flash Mp3 players are the way to go. Hard drive Mp3 players rarely go for less than between $150 and $200 because of larger displays, more memory and a greater number of features. If a hard drive mp3 player is what you want but your budget’s still tight, check out discount stores and auction sites. Often times, older models are sold at significant discounts.

Brands

Just about any electronics company makes mp3 players - Apple, Creative Labs, Sandisk and Rio to name a few. If you like sticking to brands you trust, you’re sure to find an MP3 player in your brand.

Finding the best mp3 player for you can be confusing with all the available options. Take the time to look into your options before deciding.

Mp3 Players for Dummies – a Simple Buyer’s Guide for the not so Technologically Savvy

Posted by admin | Electronics | Friday 14 November 2008 12:19 pm
Angela Mays asked:

In a world filled with MP3 Players, Portable Media Players and music downloads, there are a few of us who are still somewhat confused about how to buy a MP 3 player.  With so much information out there it’s hard to get past all of the fancy, high tech jargon to make a decision on which one is best for your needs and by the end of your search, you’re even more confused than before you started.  Well here’s a “straight to the point, quick and dirty” lesson on how to buy an MP3 player.

MP3 PLAYER VS PORTABLE MEDIA PLAYER

A MP3 Player is a portable digital device that plays and stores music and audio books.  A Portable Media Player (PMP) plays and stores audio and video. The name MP3 Player is used as a generic term to describe all portable devices.  Although PMPs can play audio not all MP3 Players can play video.  For example, the iPod Shuffle, Creative Labs Zen Stone and SanDisk Sansa Clip are MP3 Players and do not have the capability to play video.

BRANDS

For those of you who were not aware, Apple Ipod is not the only brand of MP3 Players on the market.  There are several other brands of MP3 Players for you to choose depending on your needs and most importantly, your budget.  They are the Archos, Coby, Cowon, Creative Labs, iRiver, Philips, Samsung, SanDisk, Sony, Toshiba and Zune (Microsoft).

 TYPE

MP3 Players are classified according to how they store digital data.  The most common are HARD DRIVE BASED PLAYERS and FLASH MEMORY BASED PLAYERS.  The Hard Drive Based MP3 Players have the highest capacity and are larger and heavier than the Flash Memory Based MP3 Players.  An example of a HARD DRIVE BASED PLAYER would be the iPod Classic 80 GB, iPod Classic 120 GB, iPod Classic 160 GB, Zune 120 GB, the Archos 80 GB 605 Wi-Fi PMP, Archos 160 GB 605 Wi-Fi PMP and the Creative Labs Zen Vision:M 30 GB MP3 and Video Player.  A drawback to the HARD DRIVE BASED PLAYERS is that it has moving parts that can easily malfunction if it is exposed to high temperatures or dropped.

The Flash Memory Based MP3 Players are light weight and smaller than the Hard Drive Based MP3 Players.  This type of MP3 Player has no moving parts and will have longer audio playback with a storage capacity ranging from 120 to 8000 songs. An example of Flash Memory Based MP3 Players is the Apple iPod Touch, Apple iPod Nano or Creative Labs Zen PMP.  A drawback of the Flash Memory Based MP3 Player is that it is more expensive than the Hard Drive Based Players even if the storage capacity is less.

CHOOSING A MP3 PLAYER OR PMP

Now that you’re armed with the basic information you have to determine which type is best for you.  Your personal needs and budget will help you to narrow down your choice.

Decide the type.  – Hard Drive vs Flash Memory.  When deciding the type keep in mind what you’re using it for. For example, if you’re going to use it while jogging, then the hard drive based player will not be a good choice because of the size, weight and high chance it will malfunction if it’s dropped.

Decide the storage capacity.  – When deciding the storage capacity also keep in mind whether you also want to play video and audio (PMP) or just audio (MP3 Player).  MP3 Players can come in various storage capacities which can vary by brand.  The iRiver brands features a 20 GB MP3 Player. The Archos has a PMP that has 60 GB capacity.  Whether you’re looking for 1 GB to 160 GB there is a brand and model to suit your needs.

Decide the features. – Determining features is based on personal preference.  Some MP3 Players/PMP have several features that may include voice recorders, calendar syncing, FM radio, wireless capability, photo storage or recording TV like a DVR player.  For these particular features you may want to consider the Archos brand of PMPs.  Another popular feature is color. If you’re into pink then you can get a pink mp3 player.  Your options are endless it just depends on your personal needs and how much you’re willing to spend.

Decide how much you’re willing to spend. -  The more features you desire the more you’ll spend on a MP3 Player.  If you’re just looking to play music and you’re not concerned about the fancy features then you can find a MP3 player for under $50.  For example, the SanDisk Sansa m250 2GB can be purchased for less that $35.  If you’re looking for at least 4GB then iPod Nano or Creative Labs Zen Mozaic would be a good choice. Or, if price isn’t a concern and you want the “Cadillac” MP3 Player with all the bells and whistles then consider the Archos 705 Wi-Fi PMP 160 GB.

After considering the type, capacity, features and your budget check out each of the above mentioned brands to compare features and price.  Also, if you’re on a tight budget and still want fun features consider a refurbished MP3 Player.  Now you’re informed and ready to buy and enjoy your new MP3 Player! Good Luck!

Are you going to buy an MP3 player?

Posted by admin | Electronics | Wednesday 12 November 2008 11:07 pm
Olivia Andrews asked:

If you wish to buy an Mp3 player then you should be clear as what you are going to bring in home. Mp3 player is an effective tool for them who have moved their music collection to their computers because they are digital without any movable parts.

While shopping you should take care of the following

Mp3 players can range anywhere from $60 to $500 for example Apple iPod. There are many popular Mp3 players available in the market such as Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic.

You should go for a player with storage that you can easily afford. Player with more storage capacity can hold more music. Since one minute of Mp3 music takes approximately one megabyte of memory therefore 128 megabyte Mp3 player can hold two hours of tunes. In small Mp3 players storage is made of flash memory chips.

To make your player purchase worth you should make sure that your player works with your computer because many mp3 players don’t work with Macintosh computers.

You should try all controls of the player you are going to purchase. Inexpensive players have control panels that work minimum.

Get an idea of the size and weight of the player so that if you want to carry it in your pocket or belt you can easily do so.

You should check the life of the battery as advertised because the claims made by the manufacturers are not exact very often.

Choose an mp3 player unit with a USB connection or Fire wire instead of parallel connection to your computer. This is because Fire wire is fast and flexible.

You can also choose from a player having a radio Fm receiver so that you could easily download music from the radio and identify the music and artist each time you connect the player to the computer.

Give preference to players having expandable storage such as Compact Flash, Secure Digital, and Memory Stick. There are also new models available with extra storage that can store more computer data.

Listen to the Mp3 player and also use stereo headphones. If you don’t like normal headphones you can choose from wide variety available.

Which Mp3 Player to Buy

Posted by admin | Electronics | Thursday 30 October 2008 1:59 pm
Sun B asked:

You’ve found endless amounts of mp3 players online but how do you know which one to buy?  You can do a search online right now and you’ll find that every seller has endless amounts of different mp3 players available.  So which mp3 player should you buy?  Let’s ask the real question… what are your specific needs for an mp3 player?

As a former seller online I have found that many buyers will go for the sleekest looking mp3/mp4 player that they can find.  I’m not saying that the specs didn’t count but from much of the data I gathered over the years the looks seem to outweigh everything else.

So what are you specific needs for this mp3 player you are looking for?  There is a couple of questions you may need to ask yourself before going online or to the store to buy yourself one.  Let’s get into it:

How will your mp3 player be used?  This of course is will lead you into the right direction to begin with.  Will you be using your mp3 player for everyday use?  Or will it be something you just use on occasions.  If there is no particular everyday use on the mp3 player then you can settle for something on the lower end of the list and save yourself some money.  This also leads me into the next question.

How deep are your pockets?  A few years back there where only a handful of mp3 players available or advertised on the market.  Now when you come online there are hundreds of them in all sizes, styles and formats at a much lower cost.  If you’re pockets are deep and you know your mp3 player will be of heavy use then splurge!  Go ahead and get the best one you can find.  But be smart about it, you can find mp3 players online now with much higher capacities and capabilities for a bargain.

What is the main purpose of the mp3 player?  Well besides music, the functions can offer a lot more.  If it is purely music you’re after then you can find music players for dirt cheap that work great.  But for some, like myself, use mp3 mp4 players for other purposes.  I like to read, so getting an e-book reader is really important me.  So if other features aren’t so important to you then go strictly for a music player with limited capabilities.

If it’s the total package you’re looking for then I would suggest a nice mp4 player.  These things just keep advancing by the month.  Grab yourself a nice touch screen mp4 player that offers the most features.  These touch screen players come equipped with so much, but also gets brownie points for the sleek look and touch screen ability.  Some of these you find online have some nice extra added functions that will make your mp3 buying experience heck of a lot more exciting.

Take in account your personal interests, likes or dislikes, if you’re buying it for a child take the age into consideration.  Combine it all together and go for the best value.  You’ll end up noticing that you can narrow your search down quit a bit and picking an mp3 player become a whole lot easier.
