Can you take cd players and mp3 players on an airplane?

Alana asked:

I’m going on a trip soon and was wondering if we are allowed to take cd players and mp3 players on an airplane? TSA website did not address this directly as far as I could tell. Anywhere I can call? The airline maybe?

    mp3 players

Yes. They must work to get through security (dead ones might have explosive inside) and they must be turned off when the pilot says - usually at takeoff and landing. Check with the airline.

you can bring those items on an airplane. you are not allowed to listen them during take off and when you land. your flight attendant or the pilot will tell you when it is acceptable to use “approved electronic equipment” which includes said cd player and mp3 player

    mp3 players

On most airlines you can take mp3 players/ cd players….as far as I know. But maybe it is best to check with the airline first by phoning! Have a good trip! :)

    Create a video blog

you should be able to, as long as you aren’t listning to the radio which messes with the planes radar.

Yes, you can take CD and mp3 players, and also laptops and portable DVD players. The laptop you have to turn on and show at the security checkpoint, the others you don’t. They won’t allow you to use them during take off and landing, but they will make an announcement during the flight when they can be used.

You can take MP3s and CD players on a plane. Just don’t listen to them during take off. The radio transmisson waves/ radar will interfer with the the device and the other way around too. They will announce when you will be able to use your portable electronics once you are high enough in the air.
