I don’t think you can listen to them when you take off and land, but when you’re in the air, you should be able to listen to them. You might want to check the FAA, to make sure

I just returned from a round trip to Florida. You must turn off all electrical devices during take-off and landing but after the plane reaches cruising altitude, the captain will notify the passengers that it is okay to use these devices. MP3 players are okay to use, cell phones are not.

You can listen to your MP3 during flight. You cannot have it on during takeoff or landing. The crew will make announcements as to when you can use electronic devices.

Mp3 players are okay, just don’t play them at an excessive volume! Also, keep in mind that certain portions of the trip, you should have it powered off. Have fun!

Yes you can use your mp3 player during flight. The only time it is not allowed is during takeoff and landings but the flight attendant will let you know when its appropriate to use electronic devices.

Yes you can listen during your flight just not during take off and landing, and the time while you are getting up to cruseing speeds and starting your decent. I think most of it has to do with paying attention to your surroundings so that incase of an emergency, your would be more aware and not distracted by the music
