After installing a new hard drive, my computer will no longer recognize our MP3 players?

Christi G asked:

Recently, the hard drive in our Dell went bad, and we replaced it with a Western Digital hard drive. After freshly installing Windows XP, and updating it through Microsoft Update, everything seems to work fine except for when we plug in our MP3 players. The system recognizes that something has been plugged in, but the icon in the taskbar disappears right away, and the devices don’t show in My Computer. They always worked perfect with this computer before. What do I need to do to fix this?

You may need to also reinstall drivers for the usb ports. Check the links below and make sure you have the latest service pack.
